An Odd Sort of Stress Relief

You know how you always feel better after crying? I'm exhausted. But all of the most stressful part of my life just ended, free time is blossoming, spring is blossoming. So I felt like I needed to get rid of the leftover stress and exhaustion from these very busy few weeks. What do I do when I get home from school? Quickly breeze though my homework, them watch the final episodes of Gilmore Girls, Friends, and Will and Grace, and them two episodes of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. SO MANY TEARS. And now I feel super refreshed and ready for a great night sleep :) Totally ready for a few low-stress days before the next big thing comes along

Researching

Always comes down to the last minute.  No matter how much useless information you cram into a paper, there's always more to learn, more to write about, and more to waste time putting into your own words. Always more to do.

My dad just told me that Cadbury Eggs are better for you than normal eggs . . .

Actual Egg
Cadbury Egg

You decide.

Time Flies.

Time flies when you're having fun. That's true, but time also flies when you're trying to finish your homework quickly and suddenly it's 10:20 and you still need to shower and do a bunch of math problems and edit your research paper. Oh... and sleep, but that always seems to be the least important

Tissues.

Imagine climbing into bed after a long, busy day on your feet. The sheets are freshly laundered, and you're all tuckered out, so lying down is blissful. A minute or so into your pre-slumber thoughts, you desperately need to blow your nose but the tissues are out of reach. This is my current dilemma, can you relate?

Soft tissues... just in time for the baby?

Cleaned.

I have an empty chair in a reasonable place in my room
My bookshelf is full of books
My desk is completely empty and all the drawers are filled . . . with supplies.
All my clean clothes are in my dresser.
All my dirty clothes are in a hamper.
There's a pile of nothing on my floor.
A have a dresser filled with clothes
My closet is especially neat and organized.

Cleaning.

I have a chair in the middle of my room covered in crap.
My bookshelf is covered in crap.
My desk is completely covered and all the drawers are filled . . . with crap.
All my clean clothes are on a pile on my floor.
All my dirty clothes are in another pile on my floor.
There's a pile of crap on my floor.
A have a dresser filled and covered in crap.
My closet is especially full of crap.
Tomorrow I get to sleep in.
Tonight I clean!

Belief-O-Matic

In lieu of writing my research paper this afternoon, I rediscovered a cool quiz. You answer questions about your beliefs, both moral and theistic, and it gives you a long list of religions and how you match up with them. This might just be my interest in religion, but I think it's so cool! And pretty accurate, at least for me

And as it states before you even start the quiz, "Belief-O-Matic assumes no legal liability for the ultimate fate of your soul" So no risk!

Here are my results:

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%) - Not surprised in the slightest . . .
2. Secular Humanism (99%) - Again, no surprise here
3. Liberal Quakers (90%) - A fitting top 3, a bit predictable though, no?
4. Theravada Buddhism (87%)
5. Neo-Pagan (75%)
6. New Age (71%)
7. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (71%)
8. Nontheist (69%)
9. Mahayana Buddhism (69%)
10.Taoism (66%)
11.Orthodox Quaker (57%)
12.Reform Judaism (53%)
13.Scientology (48%)
14.Baha'i Faith (46%)
15.Jainism (46%)
16.New Thought (45%)
17.Sikhism (41%)
18.Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (38%)
19.Hinduism (34%)
20.Seventh Day Adventist (24%)
21.Orthodox Judaism (22%)
22.Islam (19%)
23.Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (19%) - Oh hey one of the most popular religions in the US, I almost didn't see you way down there!
24.Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (19%)
25.Jehovah's Witness (11%)
26.Eastern Orthodox (10%)
27.Roman Catholic (10%) Such a popular religion... yet last on my list?

Radios

The radio is a funny thing. Sometimes you here a cool song, and you jam for a bit, then when the song is over you turn to another radio station, and the same song is playing... whatever, you can jam a bit more. Then a short while later you turn to yet another radio station and the song plays again.....

Also did you know that hippo milk is p!nk?

Bedtime.

When you spend an entire day doing busy things. Bedtime is the ultimate reward. Life without bedtime is like life without food. And I like food.

Sunny days

Sun? Warmth? You mean I can walk home from the bus without a jacket? I can eat my snack outside? I can see grass again? When I take a deep breath my lungs don't freeze? I can keep my window open during the day? Flowers? Flip flops? Or even better, bare feet??

Spring has Sprung!

Live Concert CDs

You know how when an artist records a live cd from a concert, you can hear the audience in the background? A one Ms. Sutton Foster recently recorded a cd at a concert I was at, and what did I just hear? Me giggling on the cd! Very cool indeed.

The Worst Songs to Have Stuck in your Head

Those one verse chants that you sing in circles of people . . . where they just repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat . . . care for some examples?

We are rising up like a phoenix from the fire, so brother and sisters spread your wins and fly higher......

River keeps a rolling, rolling and rolling. River keeps a rolling down to the sea. Mother carry me, child I will always be, father carry me down to the sea....

Wearing my long winged feathers as I fly, I circle around, I circle around, the boundaries of the earth.....

You can't kill the spirit, it is like a mountain. Old and strong it goes on and on.....

We are a circle within a circle, with no beginning and never ending....

I know SO MANY of these. Seriously a ridiculous number, but the one I have stuck in my head? Just repeating over an over and over again? Perhaps the corniest of them all....

Dear friends, dear friends, let me tell you how I feel. You have given me such treasures, I love you so. Dear friends, dear friends, let me tell you how I feel. You have given me such treasures, I love you so. Dear friends, dear friends, let me tell you how I feel. You have given me such treasures, I love you so. Dear friends, dear friends, let me tell you how I feel. You have given me such treasures, I love you so. Dear friends, dear friends, let me tell you how I feel. You have given me such treasures, I love you so. Dear friends, dear friends, let me tell you how I feel. Hydration

Water is the best this ever! Some days I'm never really thirsty, so why drink if you don't have to, right? Wrong! A nice crisp glass of water is so perfect. Whenever I feel gross I drink a ton of water and feel soooo much better. It's fantastic. Also in the summer I like to put a tiny bi of salt in my water, not so much that you can really taste it, but enough that you can't stop drinking! Oh, summer . . . today it snowed. March 14. Seriously?

Daylight Savings

My sleep is feeling silly. It still feels so early but I need to go to bed soon because I have to wake up at what feels like 5 . . . My day just got shorter.

Babysitting

I'm babysitting some of the best kids ever. One boy and one girl, each has a friend of the same gender over for a sleepover. Sounds like hell, right? Nope! Girls want to be alone so they can talk about wedding dresses for hour (I'll never understand girls), which leaves the younger boys to play with me! So much fun! Plus, they're all really good about bedtime, they all like broccoli, AND there are girl scout cookies!! Not to mention wealthy parents :)

Oh, plus they started singing Hair ant dinner so I got to tell them a little tale about me meeting Gavin Creel

Overall a successful night

Do me a favor...

Listen to this song on repeat. It doesn't matter if you can't tell what the lyrics are. It doesn't matter if you can't quite belt out the high note. Just keep listening! Over and over and over and over...............

It's so perfect

Nothing.

In space there are molecules. They are really far apart. Guess what's in between them? Nothing. Just nothing! I find that so mind-blowing. Sure, I can hold up my hand and say that there's nothing in it, but really its filled with nitrogen and oxygen and stuff like that. In space, there's just nothing. No atoms or molecules, no tiny ions, nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's wild.

12 Year Old Boys

They are so much fun! They are as mature as I am on my most immature days, which makes them bundles of fun. When was the last time you comfortably made jokes about poop and farts? Everyone need a good laugh like that every once in a great while!

Amazon

Sometimes you are going to order something on Amazon with a gift card, and you need to spend a little bit more money to get free shipping, but if you spend a little more money than that, it will cost more than the gift card... so you need to find something nice at a reasonable and very specific price . . . and it's tricky.

And here's a picture from the other Amazon!

In other news, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is f*cking brilliant.

Dryers.

Funny thing about dryers. Sometimes your parents do your laundry. Sometimes they put things in the dryer that shouldn't go in the dryer. Sometimes dryers shrink things. Sometimes dresses become too short to be dresses, but too long to be shirts. And then you need to do some sewing... or wear leggings underneath, but we all know that leggings aren't pants! So you have to do some sewing

If you ever find yourself with free time . . .

So, there was this show called [title of show] which was written by two guys about two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical. It is the most hilarious thing in the world, as are the people who are in it. So basically, if you don't know it, LOOK IT UP!! And if you do know it, listen to it RIGHT NOW!! Cuz it's cramazing. Get the reference? No? Do you want to? Here's how! When [title of show] was moving to Broadway, the four players created a video blog chronicling its transition to Broadway. And you can watch all the episodes and laugh buckets and maybe pee buckets from laughing too hard. Enjoy yourself.
